About Marisa
Hello! My name is Marisa (they/she). As a queer, autistic, polyamorous person in a fat body, I understand how difficult it can be to embrace every part of yourself in a world that often tries to silence or shame us. My clients and I work together to learn to love and celebrate the parts of ourselves that others have sought to dim. Social justice and collective liberation are woven throughout every session, as we recognize the ways oppressive systems have impacted our narrative. Together, we can rewrite your narrative, empowering you to take ownership of all the wonderful things that make you shine.

Queer-centered
I don’t just affirm LGBTQIA+ identities; a queer lens is integral to the work we do together. We work together to release shame and embrace self-acceptance. Through exploring gender, sexuality, and other queer themes, I walk alongside you as you find what your queerness means to you.

Polyamory/ENM
Non-monogamy challenges the singular soul mate narrative that we were taught growing up. ENM allows for an abundance of love, but comes with unique struggles as a result of our mononormative socialization. It’s okay to struggle. Let’s work on it together!

Fat liberation
As a lifelong fat person, I have experienced the way fatphobia touches every aspect of life. Therapy should not be one of those spaces. We will work together to help you feel at peace in your body and even celebrate it for all its glory.

Neurodivergent-centered
The neurodivergent umbrella framework teaches us that no singular brain is “typical.” My clients tend to identify as neurodivergent and focus sessions on your experience of the world, not on how you “should” experience it.
